At Valleybrook Church we have groups where you can get connected with other believers, form friendships, know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served. Here is a list of our different options for groups. 

Community Groups

What is a community group? A Community Group is a group where you can grow as a disciple who makes disciples. It is a group that invests in each other’s lives year round, sharing a meal and studying the Bible together every week. It is a group that will consistently serve in the community with a desire to spread the gospel and make disciples of Jesus.

Community Group – West Side
Led by Nate and Rachel Abuan
The Abuan House
Mondays @ 6-8pm
February – December of 2018
Note: There will be a potluck dinner with everyone at 6pm and then a Bible study with just adults at 7pm. The kids will play downstairs with adult supervision during the Bible study.

Community Group – Northeast Side
Led by Travis and Lisa Albrecht

Small Groups

What is a Small Group? A Small Group is a group where you can meet other believers, form healthy friendships, and grow in your relationship with God. Small Groups typically meet between 8 and 12 weeks, making it an easy commitment for those with busy schedules. If you want to make healthy friendships and learn more about the Bible, then join one of the small groups below.

Study of the Sermon on the Mount

Description: We will work through a bible study guide by John Stott. The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) is Jesus’ inspiring and challenging description of what Jesus wants human life and community to look like under the gracious hand of God.

Sermon Based Small Group

Description: During our time together we will dive deeper into the sermon from the previous Sunday. We will talk about the scriptures used and how they apply to our lives. and we will pray for one another. All ages are welcome. Come and join us!

Be The Bridge – A Guide For Racial Unity in the Church

Description: We are a group of individuals with a heart for all God’s people, regardless of race or culture. Our heart is for unity. Join us as we continue to seek God’s heart and explore His calling using a discussion guide from “Be The Bridge.” There is a $10 suggested donation for the discussion guide.

Resolving Everyday Conflict
Led by Matt and Pam Mattoon
2nd and 4th Thursdays @ 5:30-7pm

February – May of 2018
Description: This group will use the Resolving Everyday Conflict study guide. A potluck dinner will begin at 5:30pm followed by the study. This group will be a blend of walking through the study and caring for one another.

Financial Peace

Note: This class is for people who have a desire to be financial responsible and manage money in a way that can honor God. If you want to take the class, but the cost of the class is an issue, please email Tara to talk about scholarships.

Ongoing Groups

Family With Young Children
This is a group for families who have young children. The families meet monthly to do activities such as service projects, grill outs, time at the park, etc. If you are looking to connect with other families, this is a great group to join. Join the group on Facebook or email Ashley to join the email list. We plan to go sledding and hang out at the Janssen house the afternoon of February 24th. Come and join us!

Mom’s Group
This is a group for moms who are looking to get away for a meal and connect with other moms once a month. This is a great way for moms to recharge get connected at church. Email Ashley to join the email list.
